The Public Transport Advisor

The PTA or Public Transport Advisor is an application deployed by the IMS ARCS group as a potential end user IMS service.

This service can run off any high spec mobile phone such as the iphone. It automatically determines the user’s current location and displays this graphically. The user can then select a destination from a drop down list or graphically in map format. The service calculates available routes using public transport.

This service can also potentially use VXML to create audio instructions. This could make the device more accessible to those with visual impairments.
